भारत रत्न पुरस्कार

भारत रत्न सबसे बड़ा राष्टीय पुरस्कार होता है। यह पुरस्कार उस व्यक्ति को मिलता है जो कि असाधारण कार्य जैसे कला, साहित्य और विज्ञान के क्षेत्र में विकास या फिर जनसेवा का कार्य करता है।

भारत रत्न पुरस्कार का पदक एक पीपल की पत्ती होती है जो कि कुछ इंच मोटी व चौड़ी होती है, इस पत्ती पर कांसे की लेप चढ़ी होती है। इस पत्ती के अग्रभाग की और सूर्य के चित्र की उभरी नक्काशी होती है, उसके नीचे 'भारत रत्न' शब्द की नक्काशी हिंदी में लिखी होती है। इस पत्ती के दूसरी और देश का प्रतीक और आदर्श वाक्य  हिंदी में अंकित होता है। इस पुरस्कार पर प्रतीक, सूर्य और चक्र तीनों प्लैटिनम के बने होते हैं।
